Abacus USA Construction Index
Extonet Ltd: Publisher of Directory Websites
Extonet Ltd, based in Cambridge UK, specialises
in publishing directory websites, designed to bring together in one place the
best web resources within particular subject areas. It was founded in 2000 by
Alex Reid, on his retirement as Director General at the Royal Institute of
British Architects, London.
Extonet's Mission
There is an enormous amount of useful information on the world wide web, but it
can be very difficult to find. The best resources may be deeply buried within
individual websites, and powerful search engines such as Google are so powerful
that they are liable to overwhelm the user with irrelevant material.
Extonet's mission is to overcome this problem by selecting the best and most
relevant web resources in a particular subject area, and then indexing these so
that they can be found easily - either by using worldwide search engines to find
an Extonet page, or by searching within an individual Extonet website.
Extonet's Websites
Extonet publishes four websites:
Abacus USA at www.construction-index.com. A descriptive directory of recommended websites and online documents for architecture and construction in the USA.
